What most people think of when they picture Kung Fu is purely the physical act of the martial art. They imagine the physical actions associated with the practice and not much more than that. What they don't realize is that those movements are only half of what Kung Fu will teach you.
The specialized movements that we teach in Calgary connect body and mind in the same way many sports do. We are always creating both physical and mental coordination. With Kung Fu it is not just about the strength or speed that you develop but the ability to time them together perfectly and have the correct technique to maximize the output of your body. Achieving this requires many different concentrations which develop the mind and gives you the great focus and confidence needed to know you can handle any situation. |
We will teach you how to be calm, stable, and centered because situations can change rapidly and you need to be confident in your abilities to handle them. Once you learn how to keep calm in a self defense situation it gets easier to stay calm in more regular situations that may arise at work or with family. There’s a lot of beneficial carry-over.
We are also going to show you how to meditate so you can clear your mind of anything negative or any stresses you may be undergoing. Relaxing the mind and connecting it with your body will give you more power to deal with situations and have a greater overall perspective on them.
