About Kung Fu for Life
Grand Master D. Piercey
Our founder Grand Master D. Piercey has been training for over 40 years and teaching for 31 years internationally. In 1970, enthralled with martial arts, he began his study of Karate in Montreal. He then studied Tae Kwon Do under Master Chong Lee. On moving to Ontario, he found Kung Fu and studied under Wing Chun Master Lee Pai. Showing great talent for the art, he advanced quickly through his training.
After moving to Calgary in 1977, he studied exclusively under Grand Master O.E.ᅠ Simon for 24 years. During those years he was the Master Teacher of the Pai Hu Shih (White Tiger Style), the Moh Pai Kempo Kung Fu System (incorporating the five Shaolin animals: Dragon, Tiger, Panther, Snake, and Crane), and Purposeful Meditation. In his capacity as Master Teacher, he has been the director of 14 schools throughout North America, teaching thousands of instructors and students alike.
In 1996 he was awarded the Red Belt, and in 1997 he received his 8th degree. After 29 years of practice, he received his White Sash (or Grand Master) rank in private chambers in 1999.
Grand Master Piercey now lives in Alberta and has opened his own school. Here, exclusively for Kung Fu For Life, he brings his unique understanding, clarity, and sincerity to the delight of many old and new students.
Along side him is his wife and constant companion, Master R.J. Del Corro. In training since 1980, Master Del Corro is Master of Kung Fu and the White Tiger Style, as well as a developer of Breathing Arts. Also part of Kung Fu For Life is Grand Master Piercey’s son, Principal Teacher A. Piercey, who holds a 3rd degree Black Belt and, unknowingly, began his apprenticeship at the age of four.
